Alcoholic Beverages
at Student Events |
|
| |
|
|
OU-HCOM, being a college part of
Ohio University, adheres to the Ohio University
alcohol policy. Ohio University and the Heritage College of
Osteopathic Medicine recognize that the decision to
use alcoholic beverages is a personal one, in part
regulated by the laws of the state of Ohio, city
ordinances, and policy of Ohio University, as well
as standards of responsible behavior consistent with
the mission of the University and the Heritage College of
Osteopathic Medicine. In general, University policy
allows sale or use of alcoholic beverages in living
units and at campus events only if the majority of
those in attendance are of legal age. No sale
or use is permitted at outdoor events that are open
to the public. |

|
Student organizations that
sponsor off-campus events are expected to adhere to
state law, city ordinances, and policy of Ohio
University, including, without limitation, the Ohio
University Student Code of Conduct and the
guidelines contained within this policy.
Organizations found to have violated any state law,
city ordinance or Ohio University policy may be
subjected to the loss of registered status.
Organizational officers and advisors who are
sponsoring off campus events assume all legal and
financial responsibility. The University is
unable to defend them if legal charges are filed
against them resulting from the event. |

|
|
|
A student organization advisor or
college representative may “sign off” on payment
vouchers for food for an off campus event at which
