Dear OU-COM students, faculty, and
staff members,
The OU-COM strategic planning process for 03-04 will
be accomplished through 10 strategic planning issue
groups. Each strategic planning issue group will
concentrate on one of the 10 major issues listed in
the strategic plan. These groups will welcome your
input. The strategic planning issue groups and group
leaders are listed in a document at:

The groups have been asked to accomplish two tasks
in 03-04 (described in more detail on p. 2 of the
strategic plan):
- by December 1, 2003, to create measurement
criteria for each of the goals listed under the 10
major strategic planning issues. For example, for
Issue 7: Curriculum Theme, the Curriculum Advisory
Committee will discuss six goals, one of which is
Goal 2: “Validate the curricula and take steps to
address any identified weaknesses.” What should be
measured in order to validate the curricula? How
will we know when the curricula have been adequately
validated?
- by February 15, 2004, generate at least one
action plan to achieve each strategic plan goals
listed under each major issue.
This will provide the level of detail needed to
drive discussions of project prioritization and
budgeting for 2004-05, and many of these decisions
will be made in the spring of 2004. Please
participate in this process by expressing your
opinions to strategic planning issue groups this
Fall.
