Dear OU-COM students, faculty,
staff, and friends,
The strategic planning process has identified the
most URGENT Strategic Plan items for the 04-05
fiscal year. In the
linked two-page document (pdf file), these items
are listed along with specific action plans and cost
estimates.
Two items will be funded immediately:
- $10,000 will be allocated for 04-05 to be used
for a rewards system for predoctoral clinical
preceptors. The rewards system will be designed and
administered by the CORE Faculty Development
Committee, chaired by Steve Davis, Ph.D. (see Issue
11, Goal 1, measure 1.1)
- A new salary line will be created for a position
to take leadership in developing a focus on faculty
and staff diversity. This person will be involved in
faculty and staff recruitment, curriculum
development, and the facilitation of discussions and
training sessions concerning diversity. (see Issue
8, Goal 3).
Many of the other urgent items are underway, with
leadership from College offices and committees. I
urge you to support the activities that will help us
to achieve these urgent strategic planning goals.
