Mission:

AMOPS is charged with providing support to those who have chosen to pursue a career in military medicine. As an organization we focus on educating newly commissioned officers about the service they are now a part of by connecting them with those who have gone before, hosting workshops to learn new techniques and skills, and participating in activities that promote service. As medical officers, we learn how to balance medical duties along with military obligation to serve both our patients and our country.

Services Provided:

As an organization we participated in community events such as Race for a Reason and the OU-HCOM Med Run. AMOPS as a national organization also seeks to continue the spread of the osteopathic philosophy by increasing our impact as physicians throughout the world.

Tentative Schedule for 2012-13:

Fall semester:

• Welcome BBQ to meet new members

   (using club funds)

• Lecture: "What it means to be a Uniformed Physician"

   (using club funds)

• Water balloon WAR!

   (club funds/fundraisers/donations)

Spring semester:

• Preparing for summer training

   (club funds)

• Physical Fitness Challenge

   (club funds/donations)

• "Pinning Captain" ceremony

   (club funds)

• End of the year celebration

   (club funds)

Dues: $10 annually
