Geriatrics Medicine Club
Mission: To
provide an educational and service network for students with
an interest in the health of older adults; to provide
mentors and other opportunities for students to develop
knowledge and clinical skills in working with older adults;
to promote awareness of the health and psychosocial issues
associated with a growing population of older Americans.
Services Provided:
The organization helps to put on the annual Senior citizen
Prom at a local nursing home, holds the senior citizen pen
pal letter program, and helps with the monthly glaucoma
screenings at the Senior Outreach fairs. This year, we are
also hoping to organize a monthly "Bingo Night" at a local
nursing home.
