Student Osteopathic Internal Medicine
Association
Mission:
“In service to all members, all members in service.”
We are affiliated with the American
College of Osteopathic Internists which aims to establish
and maintain the highest educational, moral and ethical
standards in the teaching and practice of internal medicine.
The field of internal medicine is
incredibly diverse, and it is the basis for many
specialties. SOIMA aims to help students to get off on the
right start by providing networking opportunities, hosting
lectures that give students insight into future career
options, and offer opportunities for leadership and service
all while having fun with other OU-HCOM students with similar
interests and goals!
Services Provided:
SOIMA provides medical students in the Heritage College of
Medicine with information to serve their developing
interests in various areas of internal medicine. SOIMA
promotes the implementation of Osteopathic principles in
medical practice and seeks to educate its members on the
benefits of pursuing osteopathic career opportunities in the
field of internal medicine. As a student organization, SOIMA
encourages its members to actively participate in community
oriented volunteer activities that help promote heath,
wellness, and fundraising for charitable organizations.
