This is a
selection of pictures I took in remote
communities of the province of Loja,
Southern Ecuador. The look in the eyes
of the people I photographed will stay
with me forever. I hope they can touch
you if only just for a while. The
pictures are accompanied by the
wonderful music of Gustavo Santaolalla
"De Usuahia A La Quiaca" from the
equally amazing movie "Diarios de
Motocicleta".
I was in Ecuador to participate in an
amazing research project organized by
the Tropical Disease Institute based at
Ohio University (Athens, Ohio, USA) and
in Quito, Ecuador.
